I've ordered take out from them a couple of times before. They take about a half an hour in general to get your food ready, so if you're hungry make sure you leave plenty of time in advance!!The portions are a bit smaller than other Chinese food restaurants I'm used to but still very tasty. I have only been in the restaurant to pick up food and not to eat, but from what I can see it seems to be pretty typical of other similar restaurants. Nothing new to see here.I enjoy the steamed chicken and mushroom dish and I ask them to make it spicy for me
Ask for their special menus!
The food there is just so so.The point is that the fish-flavored pork is the result of the onion-fried minced meat... the fish-flavored pork but not a little fishy...
nice Chinese restaurant! taste good
Our family went here for dinner and we had the most fantastic experience. I personally think it was the best dinning out experience i have ever had. Best food, best service. 5/5
Got a simple Canadian style combo plate and it was very good. The egg rolls and chick ball breading was very nice and crisp. Would definitely go back for more.
The Chicken Balls were good, not all batter, and the sauce was good. Rice was a bit salty, but still enjoyable. The egg roll was my kind of egg roll, meaty without veggies.
The food was good
Pretty decent, full of the only Chinese people in Halifax.
Real Chinese food in Halifax.
The food is of high quality, tastes great. Clean and spacious. The management, waiters and waitress are eager to make your experience a good one.
Great Steamed Fish with Gai Lan.
Service is excellent and the food is best I have had in ages! Yahoo! Highly recommend.
I am a Chinese and I don't go there.
This roast chicken dipping sauce is very delicious, as well as oily wheat vegetables. I heard that there is a signature New Town fried rice in the store, and I will taste it next time. Introducing a household name, Xincheng beef belly soup, salty and light, just drinking warm winter stomach. Good to drink! The overall positioning of the store is wide-style western-style, the salt and pepper shrimp is very fragrant, but it is too spicy... The next time you have to put less spices, the general chicken is very delicious, the meat is very tasty, the oil is slightly less. . The price is not expensive, I ordered four dishes, one soup, two staple foods (face) for a total of 120 taxes. It’s really cheap, and the average one is 12 knives. (15% tax) The layout of the store is quite big, the boss's service attitude is very good, there is WiFi. There are coin-operated parking spaces nearby.
Good quality, reasonable prices, big portions
Craving for Chinese food
I was stay in Halifax for past 18 years, New Asia’s HK style lobster always best in town! ! Also they have other good dishes as Cantonese style.
brasied pork belly was awesome
We are from big cities like Chicago and Toronto, where authentic and delicious Chinese food is aplenty. We moved to Halifax and have been so disappointed by the Chinese food here we just stopped eating out at Chinese restaurants. That is until our late night adventure into New Asia. New Asia was truly satisfying for a family that really misses good Chinese food. If you're looking for a restaurant with non-authentic North American Chinese concoctions, great ambience, and fine dining service, it's probably not New Asia. Our service was perfectly fine for us though. But if you're looking for great Chinese food - please go here so it can stay in business and I can continue to eat here.
This restaurant offers both Canadian style Chinese food and authentic Chinese dishes. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Would recommend for sure.
Great food, excellent service, appealing ambiance.
My friend lives here recommended this Chinese restaurant to me. I ordered a Doufu for my daughter, and a spicy stir-fry intestine. Both are pretty good. And weekend brunch, there is Guangdong Dim Sum supply. It's so pity I need to leave. I hope I could tasteit next time.
It was a very big disappointment....staff of 2 for more than 100 covers restaurant during lunch....started my meal with maincourse and finished with soup
Ordered delivery- shrimp and veggies was good, egg noodles and spicy beef was ok , chicken fried rice was like dry burnt black rice in too much soya sauce, fried dumplings were dry and no flavour. I seriously expected more from this place with a 4* review rating. Will not order from here again. Disappointing!
Black fish fragrant pork. Also said for ten years. Really talk about conscience. Don't hang up and sell dog meat! ! ! ! An uncomfortable experience! ! There are black pepper cowboy bones. It is almost all soy sauce. Salty to die. The egg rolls are not fresh at all, and the stuffing is a bit sticky. Mushroom egg soup, a mushroom on the cut, really save ah. The whole dish is salty. And what dishes can be made of soy sauce. Really powerful. Can also be opened for ten years. Deception to foreigners is even better. Everyone has their eyes open.
Food was good and atmosphere was nice and quiet. The chicken lo mein wasn't too greasy and the noodles weren't mush. I would order again. Service was subpar.
Based on the quality of the food alone, this would be 4 stars. However, the atmosphere is a little odd inside of the restaurant. I've visited on more than one occasion where there is no music playing (in an empty restaurant, makes for an awkward meal) and the person helping me was on the phone the whole time. However, the food is way better than the other options in downtown Halifax. Gotta try the ginger chicken!
What ever they cook daily around 11-12pm smells like burnt toast for a solid hour, it sucks living near it. Foods alright
Excellent food! Lots of selection on the menu with something for everyone. Ordered five dishes and all were prepared and cooked perfectly. Service was quick and we serving sizes were large enough to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Will definitely be back.
'pretty good
Order take out quite regularly. Not a fan of the fried rice but love the ginger beef, beef and broccoli never skimps on the beef and sweet and sour chicken are very full of nice white meat cooked just right. And they automatically put the S&S on the side for delivery orders which is a plus for me, no soggy chicken! I’ve called at all hours of the evening and while they usually say it’ll be 15 minutes, it’s almost always less, unless it’s prime meal time. Doesn’t seem to have much eat-in business as it’s almost always very empty when I pick up but seem very popular with lots of take-out/delivery orders. My only criticism is that they ALWAYS ask if I know where they are located, which gets a bit tedious to hear repeatedly but at least they’re conscientious!🤩
It ’s okay to eat too much soy sauce and many dishes are dark
Omg! This was the worst Chinese/Asian restaurant I have ever eaten at! We ordered only 4 things and when we ordered more they told us that it will take 30 mins when there were no other people in the restaurant. I think I smell a racist attitude or whatever ... But this is pathetic. ... Two thumbs down!!!
Enjoyed the curry chicken and the Singapore noodles
